Gasoline could hit $7 a gallon in four years

Crude supplies are actually lower than some official estimates indicate, while demand is unlikely to fall anytime soon, according to a statement by analysts led by Jeff Rubin at CIBC, an investment bank. They forecast that these tighter supplies and continued strong demand will drive oil and gasoline prices to roughly double their current levels by 2012.

“It is increasingly clear that the outlook for oil supply signals a period of unprecedented scarcity,” said Rubin. “Despite the recent record jump in oil prices, oil prices will continue to rise steadily over the next five years.”

The front-month crude contract slid Thursday to $116 a barrel, after hitting a historic high of $119.90 a barrel Tuesday. Retail gas prices averaged $3.56 a gallon Thursday, according to AAA, a new record high. See Futures Movers.

Some analysts, however, said crude prices could turn lower. Standard & Poor’s predicted Thursday that crude prices could tumble to about $90 a barrel by the end of this year with the U.S. economy struggling in recession, though the range of that forecast is plus or minus $50. See full story.

Overstated estimates

CIBC based its prediction on an analysis of crude-production estimates by the International Energy Agency, which the investment bank says has overstated supplies because the agency counts natural-gas liquids as part of the output. Stripping out natural-gas liquids, the global oil market is much tighter, and oil production will hardly grow, they added.

“While natural-gas liquids only account for 10% of total supply, they account for virtually all of the increase in petroleum-liquids production since 2005,” said Rubin in a news release.

“Stripping out natural-gas liquids, oil production has not grown for over two years, which certainly goes a long way to explaining why oil prices have doubled over that period,” he added.

The portion of natural-gas liquids in total oil production is increasing, from about 4% in the 1970s to an estimated 10% by 2012, CIBC said. Natural-gas liquids are not a viable substitute for oil and cannot be economically used as a basis for gasoline, diesel or jet fuel.

Latest data from the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of U.S. Energy Department, indicated domestic drilling of natural gas liquids was increasing, while domestic oil production was falling.

Natural gas liquids production averaged 2.4 million barrels a day so far this year, gaining 4% from the same period of the last year, while crude output fell 1.9% from a year ago to 5.1 million barrels.

More natural gas comes with oil

Beyond methane which is what the home consumers burn, natural gas at the well contains a range of readily liquefiable gases, which agencies like the IEA have traditionally included in total oil supply.

IEA, a Paris-based energy adviser to 27 developed countries, said in its April monthly report that global oil production stood at 87.3 million barrels a day in March.

While natural gas can occur on its own, much of the world’s natural gas is found together with oil.

James Williams, an economist at WTRG Economics, an energy research firm, agreed that natural gas liquids found together with crude oil have been increasing, while “there isn’t much growth in oil,” he said. “The lack of oil growth has been due to the lack of investment.”

Accelerating depletion of existing oil fields and a lack of investment in new fields have resulted in a rising ratio of natural gas to oil in drilling in mature oil fields.

Some oil producers have been promising to invest more to increase production capacity. Abdalla Salem el-Badri, secretary general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, said early this week the cartel is planning to spend $160 billion over the next four years to boost oil production capacity by 5 million barrels a day. See full story.

Demand in non-OECD countries to exceed OECD

While supplies are seen tight, there is little evidence to suggest that there will be any reduction in oil demand, CIBC predicted, as demand growth outside the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development offsets slowing demand in OECD countries.

Countries such as Brazil, China and Russia have seen surging sales of automobiles, while car sales in the United States and Europe have been declining or flat. Gasoline, diesel and other transportation fuels account for about half of the world’s oil consumption.

CIBC predicted that by 2012, oil consumption in the rest of the world will exceed OECD. OECD countries currently consume about 50 million barrels a day of crude, 13 million barrels a day more than non-OECD countries.

Demand from major oil producers and exporters is also seen rising. Over the last three years, oil consumption in OPEC members has grown an average of over 5% a year. Combined demand from OPEC members, together with Russia and Mexico, already stood at about 13 million barrels a day, the world’s second largest after the U.S.

“With production faltering, soaring rates of domestic fuel consumption will soon cannibalize export capacity,” adding more pressure to the world energy market, said Rubin in the report.

Fuel consumption in some oil producing countries was partly boosted by extremely low prices. Retail gasoline was only about 25 cents a gallon in Venezuela and 60 cents a gallon in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iran. End of Story

Alarmed rabbis: Prime minister dividing Jerusalem

(World net Daily)

JERUSALEM – A group of hundreds of prominent Israeli rabbis this week urged a religious partner of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s government to immediately bolt the Israeli leader’s coalition amid rampant media reports Jerusalem is up for negotiations.

The rabbis warned that if the Orthodox Shas party remains in Olmert’s government, they will urge Jews against supporting Shas. If the party bolts, Olmert’s coalition government could fall apart, precipitating new elections.

“We are seriously considering issuing a statement signed by the hundreds of rabbis of the organization declaring it is absolutely forbidden for any observant Jew to vote for a party that lent its support to a government that negotiated the division of Jerusalem, a move that will place the entire population in Israel in mortal danger,” Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Lewin, director general of the Rabbinical Congress for Peace, told WND.

The Congress is a coalition of more than 350 Israeli rabbinic leaders and pulpit rabbis.

Olmert repeatedly has insisted Israeli-Palestinian negotiations are not dealing with the status of Jerusalem, while Palestinian leaders, including Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abba, and many Israeli officials, including Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, stated in recent weeks negotiations are covering all core issues, including Jerusalem.

The Israeli Shas party has stated it would bolt the prime minister’s coalition if it becomes clear the Israeli government is negotiating the ceding of any part of Jerusalem. Shas’ departure could collapse Olmert’s government.

Olmert must maintain a majority of the Knesset’s 120 seats to continue ruling. He currently rules with a slight plurality. If Shas, with its 12 seats, bolts the government, Olmert would be forced to forge a new coalition or face new elections. Most analysts here believe if Shas does bolt, Olmert could only stay in power if he invites Arab parties to his government, a move that would be considered highly controversial.

Shas denies Jerusalem is being discussed during weekly Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, which commenced after last November’s U.S.-sponsored Annapolis summit.

“Nobody is talking about Jerusalem. The moment Jerusalem is being discussed, Shas will leave the government – period,” Shas Spokesman Roi Lachmanovitch told Israel National News.

A Rabbinical Congress for Peace statement issued after an emergency meeting yesterday countered: “Every novice journalist and anyone listening to the news in Israel knows that giving up large chunks of Jerusalem has been on the negotiating table for quite some time and is in its advanced stages. Only the representatives of Shas are burying their heads in the ground and pretend they know of nothing.”

“They are lying to themselves and deceiving their electorate. The Shas ministers know that Olmert and Abbas have agreed not to make public any agreement on Jerusalem until after the final signature in order to keep Shas in the government,” said the RCP statement.

The statement was signed by scores of prominent rabbinic leaders here.

Since the Annapolis summit, which aimed to create a Palestinian state before the end of the year, senior negotiating teams including Livni and chief Palestinian negotiator Ahmed Qureia have been meeting weekly while Olmert and Abbas meet biweekly.

Unlike previous Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in which both sides attended with about a dozen advisors each, Livni’s and Quereai’s teams are small, usually consisting at most of five people each. Media leaks from the current negotiations have been rare. Some momentum is highly expected before a visit Bush has scheduled to Israel in May, his second trip since Annapolis.

Olmert’s government has hinted a number of times it will divide Jerusalem and reportedly has halted all Jewish construction permits for eastern sections of the city.

In December, Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon said the country “must” give up sections of Jerusalem for a future Palestinian state, even conceding the Palestinians can rename Jerusalem “to whatever they want.”

“We must come today and say, friends, the Jewish neighborhoods, including Har Homa, will remain under Israeli sovereignty, and the Arab neighborhoods will be the Palestinian capital, which they will call Jerusalem or whatever they want,” said Ramon during an interview.

Positions held by Ramon, a ranking member of Olmert’s Kadima party, are largely considered to be reflective of Israeli government policy.

Olmert himself recently questioned whether it was “really necessary” to retain Arab-majority eastern sections of Jerusalem.

Israel recaptured eastern Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount – Judaism’s holiest site – during the 1967 Six Day War. The Palestinians have claimed eastern Jerusalem as a future capital; the area has large Arab neighborhoods, a significant Jewish population and sites holy to Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

About 231,000 Arabs live in Jerusalem, mostly in eastern neighborhoods, and many reside in illegally constructed complexes. The city has an estimated total population of 724,000.

Olmert to blame for dividing Jerusalem?

Ramon listed population statistics as the reason Olmert’s government finds it necessary to split Jerusalem.

But WND broke the story that according to Jerusalem municipal employees, during 10 years as mayor of Jerusalem, Olmert instructed city workers not to take action against hundreds of illicit Arab building projects throughout eastern sections of Jerusalem housing over 100,000 Arabs squatting in the city illegally.

The workers and some former employees claim Olmert even instructed city officials to delete files documenting illegal Arab construction of housing units in eastern Jerusalem.

Olmert was Jerusalem mayor from 1993 to 2003. As mayor, he made repeated public statements calling Jerusalem the “eternal and undivided capital” of Israel. Jerusalem municipal employees and former workers, though, paint a starkly contrasting picture of the prime minister.

“He did nothing about rampant illegal Arab construction in Jerusalem while the government cracked down on illegal Jewish construction in the West Bank,” said one municipal employee who worked under Olmert. She spoke on condition of anonymity, because she still works for the municipality.

One former municipal worker during Olmert’s mayoral tenure told WND he was moved in 1999 to a new government posting after he tried to highlight the illegal Arab construction in Jerusalem. He also spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing for his current job.

Aryeh King, chairman of the Jerusalem Forum, which promotes Jewish construction in Jerusalem, told WND an investigation by his group found Olmert’s city hall deleted files documenting hundreds of illegal Arab building projects throughout eastern sections of Jerusalem. He said he forwarded his findings to Israel’s state comptroller for investigation.

King also claims Olmert told senior municipal workers not to enforce a ban on illegal Arab buildings.

“Ehud Olmert gave the order not to deal with the problem and not to put Israeli security forces to the duty of taking down the illegal Arab complexes,” said King. “Senior municipal workers told me Olmert said not to bother with the illegal Arab homes, because eventually eastern Jerusalem would be given to the Palestinian Authority.”

King’s report alleges Jerusalem municipal officials erased the files, which detail over 300 cases of Arab construction in eastern Jerusalem deemed illegal starting from 1999. The illegal buildings reportedly were constructed without permits and are still standing. According to law, they must be demolished.

Local media reports investigating King’s charges alleged the files were erased by Ofir May, the head of Jerusalem’s Department of Building Permits, with the specific intention of allowing the statute of limitation on enforcing the demolition of the illegal construction to run out.

The Jerusalem municipality released a statement in response to the allegations claiming the threat of Arab violence kept it from bulldozing the illegal Arab homes.

“During the years of the intifada, the municipality had difficulty carrying out the necessary level of enforcement in the neighborhoods of eastern Jerusalem due to security constraints,” the statement read.

King said the hundreds of buildings allegedly detailed in the deleted municipal files house more than 20,000 illegal units.

“We’re talking about perhaps 100,000 or more Arabs in eastern Jerusalem living in illegal homes with the government doing nothing about it,” King said.

The Sex Lives of Christian Teens

On the radio, popular songs declare the thrills of casual sex. On the Internet, pop-up windows beckon Web surfers to erotic destinations. The fashion world touts midriff-baring designs, while prime-time TV rolls out one sexual innuendo after another.

Today’s adolescents must navigate this cultural morass just at a time when hormonal surges and emerging feelings are making life confusing enough. But what happens when faith gets thrown into the mix? How does being a Christian affect a teenager’s perceptions and responses in this sex-drenched society?

Much has been written lately about abstinence education and how more teens are choosing not to have sex. Newsweek even touted “The New Virginity” on its cover last fall and acknowledged that religion—along with caring parents and an awakening sense of personal responsibility—has played a major role in why teens are deciding to wait. Indeed, programs like True Love Waits (an international campaign launched by the Southern Baptists in 1993) have challenged millions of teens and college students to remain sexually pure until marriage. And the Centers for Disease Control reports that the number of high school students who said they’ve had sex has dropped notably, from 54 percent in 1991 to 46 percent in 2001.

Still, polls and studies only tell part of the story. Despite signs that things are improving, the reality of sexual temptation remains—and Christian young people are not inoculated against these pressures. Hearing their voices, in fact, suggests that their plight might be even more precarious than their non-Christian counterparts:

“I know the Bible says you can’t have sex before marriage. But why can’t you, if you’re in love with the person? It doesn’t feel wrong. —Kendra, 14

“My boyfriend and I don’t want to mess around anymore. But how do we keep this commitment? I never realized how powerful passion can be.” —Shari, 15

“Kids at school are pressuring me and my girlfriend to have sex. I want to wait until marriage, but I worry about how this makes me look.” —Darryl, 17

“I feel cut off from God. I want to do what’s right, but I can’t seem to. Recently I had sex with a guy, thinking that it would bring us closer. I know now that was a mistake, and I feel totally ashamed.” —Aimee, 16

A lot of Christian teens are having sex and suffering painful, sometimes devastating consequences. Meanwhile, those not having sex are thinking a lot about it, many of them wavering between fear and curiosity.

Parents, youth pastors, and other concerned adults might hope that the influence of biblical principles on their young would help them withstand the onslaughts of peer pressure, physical longings, and conflicting signals from secular voices (“Don’t have sex, but when you do, use a condom”), but the several teens who spoke candidly with Christian Reader reveal a far more complicated picture.

The Planned World War III – A Play in Numerous Acts

A Three World War scenario was developed several decades ago.  Two World Wars have already been achieved, and the Third and final World War envisions an attack on Iraq, Iran and/or Syria as being the trigger to set the entire Middle East into fiery conflagration. Once America is firmly entrenched into the Middle East with the majority of her first-line units, North Korea is to attack South Korea. Then, with America’s forces stretched well beyond the limit, China is to invade Taiwan.  This will usher in the start of World War Three.

World War Definition:

What constitutes a ‘world war’? How many countries need to be involved?  And who decides at which point a number of regional skirmishes can be grouped together and called a World War?  At the time, who called the official start of World War 1 and World War 2?

And have you noticed that although the term ‘World War Three’ is freely used in the alternative press and on the Internet, all the major news networks have stoically avoided using any phrase reminiscent of World War.

Since it’s difficult to find a definition for an event which has only happened twice in modern history, here’s my attempt at an answer to the question ‘what constitutes a world war’?

A World War is a military conflict spanning more than 2 continents, in which at least 20 major countries participate in an attack against a common enemy, and which has the attention of the man-in-the-street due to the significant loss of life.

With that definition, we can agree that WW1 and WW2 were in fact World Wars (both wars involved some degree of participation from most of the world’s then existing countries: Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the Soviet Union).  We can also agree that we are very close to achieving World War 3.  The only requirement left to fulfill the start of WW3 is that of a military conflict spanning more than 2 continents.  As soon as Israel attacks Palestine, or North Korea attacks South Korea or the US, or China invades Taiwan, we will have the next World War well underway.

World War 3 Timeline

These are, I believe, the elements of the planned Third World War:

  • Prelude – The events leading up to the start of World War Three, including Sept 11, 2001.
  • Act 1The Middle East.  Widespread conflict to bring the entire region into the flames of war, possibly triggered by Iran or militants in Pakistan using North Korean supplied nuclear arms.  The first Scene in this Act is the US Invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003.
  • Act 2Israel at War — Against her Arab neighbors, possibly Palestine.  A Palestinian State will be established, so that all Israelis will be fully separated from Palestinians (listen out for mention of a 7-year treaty to be confirmed by a World Leader – probably Bush), only for Israel to viciously attack Palestine shortly thereafter.
  • Act 3Far East — “Hair-raising nuclear confrontation that threatens mankind’s existence” – Peter Lemesurier, author of The Armageddon Script, p. 223, written in 1981.  Includes China invading Taiwan and a nuclear eruption on the Korean Peninsula.
  • Act 4Erosion of Confidence in ‘The System’ so severe citizens will be panicked into giving up liberties and Constitutional form of government.  The plan calls for the dissolution of the US Constitution, triggered by a significant enough ‘terrorist’ attack.  The ultimate intent is to introduce a global government and one-world religion.
  • Act 5The collapse of the US, and other Western economies and morals.
  • Act 6Significant population reduction using natural and man-made disasters.
  • Curtain.  Who can tell how this war will end?

Both Biblical prophecy and the Illuminati plan state that Israel is the key. The Third World War is planned to begin when Israel goes to war against her Arab enemies. Then and only then will all the other elements begin to occur and they will occur in rapid succession. The plan is to have one disaster following another in such rapid succession that, before people can mentally and emotionally handle one disastrous news event, they will be hit with another.  It is also true to say that until ALL the elements for WW3 are in place, the plan will not commence.

While it would be naive to suggest a specific timeline for the events leading up to and including World War 3, we do know that the plans for World War 3 are well advanced, and our leaders involved in this secret plan are waiting only for the right signal before all-out war begins.

We are in the last stages of the preparation to so globalize the world that the Masonic New Age Christ (Antichrist) can appear to receive all the political and economic power of the world’s rulers. This is the Illuminati plan and Biblical prophecy (Revelation 17:12-17).

In the words of Peter Lemesurier, author of The Armageddon Script:

“Their script is now written, subject only to last-minute editing and stage-directions.  The stage itself, albeit in darkness, is almost ready.  Down in the pit, the subterranean orchestra is already tuning up.  The last-minute, walk-on parts are even now being filled.  Most of the main actors, one suspects, have already taken up their roles.  Soon it will be time for them to come on stage, ready for the curtain to rise.  The time for action will have come.”

Jerusalem becomes a ‘stumbling block’ in Mideast peace talks

 Zechariah 12 Alert!

A senior Palestinian official has thrown a wrench into peace talks by saying that the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, the holiest place in Judaism, belongs to Islam and the Palestinians.

Muslim worshippers pray during the second Friday prayers of the holy fasting month of Ramadan in the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem's Old City, 21 Sep 2007<br />
Muslim worshippers pray during second Friday prayers of holy fasting month of Ramadan in al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem’s Old City, 21 Sep 2007

The Palestinian Minister for Jerusalem Affairs Adnan Husseini says the Western Wall is a “Wakf” or Islamic Trust that must be returned to Palestinian control.  He told Israel Radio that it is a supporting wall for the al-Aksa Mosque, the third holiest place in Islam.

For Israel, the wall is the last remnant of the biblical Temple, and turning it over to the Palestinians is unthinkable.

As Israel and the Palestinians try to hammer out a declaration of principles to be presented at an international peace conference this year, Jerusalem is back on the negotiating table.

In a compromise proposal earlier this week, Israel offered to hand over some Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem to Palestinian control, though that would not include the Old City, where contested holy sites are located.

Israeli parliamentarian Reuven Rivlin, of the hawkish opposition Likud party, says the government made a mistake by negotiating on Jerusalem in the first place.

Rivlin told Israel Radio that if you begin by offering Arab neighborhoods to the Palestinians then you end at the Western Wall.  He said no Israeli leader has the right to negotiate over Jerusalem, which he says is the eternal capital of the Jewish people.

Reinforcing Palestinian demands, President Mahmoud Abbas said Israel must withdraw from all territory captured in the 1967 war, including Jerusalem’s Old City.  Israel’s government says that is a non-starter.
